21 Eagles Named to Spring All-Met Teams, Daley Named Coach of the Year

Twenty-one student-athletes were named to Washington Post All-Met teams for their outstanding play this spring. Here is the list of honorees:

Baseball
1st Team: Bryson Moore '23
📰: "The Virginia-bound right-hander was the best pitcher and one of the top hitters in the toughest conference around, notching a 1.27 ERA and a .364 batting average."

2nd Team: Marcus LeClair '23

Crew
1st Team: Alexander Carpentier '23, Jack Donovan '23, Phillip Williams '23
📰: "Carpentier led the Eagles to top local finishes at the Washington Metropolitan Interscholastic Rowing Association regatta (gold), Stotesbury (silver) and U.S. nationals (fourth)."
📰: "D.C. area coaches held Donovan in extremely high regard; it’s no surprise why, as the senior captained Gonzaga to its first WMIRA championship since 2016. "
📰: "Behind Williams, a multi-sport athlete and University of Glasgow commit, Gonzaga was the top local program — convincingly so, thanks to his leadership."

Best Boats: 1st 8, 2nd 8, 1st 4
Honorable Mention: Nick Abrials '24, Pablo Noguera '24, Brendan Stroh '24

Coach of the Year: Tom Daley
📰: "Daley, who long coached the Eagles’ freshman team, stepped in as the varsity coach this season. His philosophy, to include every last member of the program, exceeded even the most optimistic expectations, as Gonzaga outpaced local and national programs from its top varsity boat down to its freshman crew. The program brought eight boats to the prestigious Stotebsury Cup regatta and returned to D.C. with four boats that medaled."

Golf
1st Team: Carson Looney '25, Jack Teuschl '23
📰: "Looney boasts a rock-solid record and was undefeated in Washington Catholic Athletic Conference play. He ended his sophomore season with hardware, shooting a 1-under 71 to win the D.C. State Athletic Association individual title as the only player to finish under par."
📰: "Teuschl, the Navy commit, shot a 2-under 70 to nab the WCAC title and propel the Eagles to another team title."
