• Q: How do I sign up?

• Q: What day can I visit?

  A: The Eagle for a Day Program will begin in mid-September and will continue until early December. Nearly every day in that time frame that Gonzaga has a normal class day, we will host Eagle for a Day visitors.

• Q: How do I get to Gonzaga?

  A:  Gonzaga is located in the heart of the capital city. If you are not sure how to find the Gonzaga campus, you can find directions and parking information here.

   

  The Admissions Office is on the first floor of Dooley Hall. Go inside the doors and proceed to the school Seal, which is in the floor in front of Our Lady's Chapel. As is our tradition, please do not step on the Seal. Turn left, and the Admissions Office is the first door on the left. You will be greeted by a member of the Admissions Team.

• Q: When should I arrive at Gonzaga?

  A. The Gonzaga School day is 8:30 am until 2:25 pm. Please arrive at the Gonzaga Admissions office at 8:15 am. Your day will end at 2:25 pm, and your host will bring you back to the Admissions Office staff. Please confirm with your parents, when they drop you off, if they will meet you at the Admissions Office or elsewhere on campus.

• Q: What should I wear?

  A: During your visit you have two dress options:

  1) Following the Gonzaga dress code:

  • Dress pants (any color) and belt
  • Collared shirt (any color and tucked into your pants)
  • Dress shoes and dress socks (no white socks)

  2) You may also wear your grade school uniform if it conforms to our dress code.

  
  

  *Hoodies are not within Gonzaga's dress code and should not be worn during your visit.

• Q: What is Gonzaga's policy regarding cell phones?

  A: You may bring your cell phone with you for the day. However, the phone needs to be turned off and put away during all classes and academic settings. 

• Q: Should I bring anything?

  A: Lunch is on us! You do not need to bring your own food. Also, you may choose to bring a notebook and pen if you wish to take notes while you are on campus. Lastly, enthusiasm to experience a new community as our guest is never underrated.

• Q: Can I choose my host student?

  A: Yes, you may request a host student, but he must be a freshman. Gonzaga does its best to accommodate requests but cannot guarantee they can be fulfilled. If you have a brother at Gonzaga, unless he is a freshman, he cannot host you. Since we have your safety in mind, we need to know how to find you during the day. At no point is a visiting student ever to leave their assigned host.

• Q: In which classes will I take part?

  A: Gonzaga operates on a block schedule with A and B Days. You will visit on one of those two days, so you will not experience every class that is part of your host’s course load. At Open House on November 24, however, we will simulate classes from every academic discipline, so you will be able to interact with our teachers at that time as well.

• Q: What if I need to reschedule/cancel my visit?

  A: Up until 3 days before your visit, families can reschedule through your online Admissions Account. Within 3 days, families should call the Admissions Office at 202.336.7101 to let us know your plans are changing. We can help you reschedule or cancel. There are families waiting in hopes of availability, so again, we appreciate the courtesy of advance notice so that we can fill any vacated spot.

• Q: What if there is snow or inclement weather on the day I am scheduled to visit?

  A:  Gonzaga generally follows the decisions of the Montgomery County Public School system for weather-related closings or delays. If Montgomery County Public Schools cancel classes, Gonzaga's classes are also canceled. If Montgomery County has a delayed opening of any length, Gonzaga opens at 9:30am.
