Rugby Improves to 3-1, Set to Face Charlotte on the Road

Gonzaga Rugby took on two strong local teams in a three day span: Vienna Rugby Club and Fort Hunt. Varsity Purple defeated Vienna 52-21 on Thursday, March 6 on Buchanan Field as Axel Ries '26 did a great job guiding the Eagles from play to play, with senior leaders Ethan Heim and Thomas Gabay exploiting weaknesses on the edge. The Eagles then went on to defeat Fort Hunt 29-12 on Saturday March 8 at West Potomac High School in Alexandria, VA. Eagle tries came from Gabay, Ries, Luke Jerro '26, Bo Sulc '26, and Gavin Kosch '26.

The team opened the season with a close loss, but rebounded well to defeat St. Joe's Prep (PA) in dominant fashion 59-21, here are some great photos from the win:
