Water Polo Earns Second-Place Finish at Beast of the East, Tops Loyola 19–16
Water Polo finished in second place in Flight II of the Beast of the East tournament over the weekend, marking one of the program’s best-ever finishes at the event. The Eagles won four games, starting on Friday, Sept. 25, with victories over Cathedral Prep (13–11) and Wissahickon (11–8). The next day, the team advanced to the championship match by defeating Brunswick B (14–9) and Episcopal Academy (15–11). In a thrilling final match against Cumberland Valley, the Eagles narrowly fell short, 13–14.
Jack Singleton ’29 scored 32 of the team’s 66 goals over the weekend, while Kasper Parfomak ’27 added 11. John Stubner ’27 led the team in assists with nine and also recorded 11 steals. In goal, Chase Hutto ’28 anchored the defense with an impressive 39 saves across the five games.

On Thursday, October 1, Gonzaga faced Loyola Blakefield and beat the Dons 19–16 in an exciting match. Jackson Saloom ’30 scored two goals, made two steals, and played great defense throughout to help the Eagles secure the win.
