Football Beats Loyola, Carroll Up Next

The varsity football Eagles dominated the visiting Dons by a score of 41-7 on Friday, September 13 in front of a great crows on Eye Street. Loyola beat Gonzaga in 2023, but the very first play of the game last Friday was an indication of how we would fair this year as senior captain Kainoa Winston returned the opening kickoff 99 yards. In the second quarter, running back David Fred '25 scored twice, from 13 and 23 yards out, and wide receiver Lincoln Fisher '25 caught a 14 yard touchdown from quarterback Jason Lindsey to give us a commanding 28-0 halftime lead.

In the second half, Lindsey connected with tight end Jack Gaskins '27 on a 7 yard score and quarterback Tommy Kemp '25 exploded for a 64 yard touchdown run. The Eagles defense was led by defensive lineman Rex Stinchcomb '25 who had one sack and two tackles for loss. Fred finished with 149 yards rushing and was named the DC Touchdown Club Player of the Week.
