Cross Country Enjoys Promising Start
Gonzaga Cross Country has competed in two meets so far this season. On Friday, August 29, the team took 4th place in the Trials of Miles in Leesburg, VA with 161 points. Medalists included Anthony Sarro ’26 (3rd) and Ian Catazano ’26 (13th). Other scorers were Jennings Davis ’27 (39th), Declan Musselman ’27 (56th) and Teddy Fritz ’26 (59th). On Saturday, September 13 the program competed in the RVA Relays at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, VA with three teams of five runners each. Gonzaga finished 5th place out of 60+ schools in all three relay races – click here to see the full results. “Combining the scores from the three races led to a 2nd place tie for our overall place for the day,” said head coach John Ausema. “I’m looking forward to our upcoming travel trips and the opportunities for each runner to continue to grow.” Click here for photos from the meet.
