Model UN Team Competes at UVA
Gonzaga’s Model UN team traveled to the University of Virginia in November to compete against nearly 500 students from a dozen different schools in the Virginia Model United Nations Conference. Students competed in five different committee sessions, totaling up to 12 hours of competition and debate.
Twelve students represented Gonzaga, and the entire group received the first place award for Best Small Delegation at the Conference: Percival Kyd Bruneau '26, Thomas Callaghan '29, James Campione '29, Evan Delcher '26, Alex Denton '26, Thatcher Donnelly '28, Jackson Duarte '27, Charles Gartland '28, Henry Hook '27, Mark Joyner '27, Matthew Salemme '26 and Aidan Sokolov '26.
Seven Eagles were individually recognized for their performance:
Best Small Delegation (1st Place Award) - Gonzaga College High School
Best Delegate (1st Place) - Percival Kyd Bruneau
Outstanding Delegate (2nd Place) - Matthew Salemme and Evan Delcher
Honorable Delegate (3rd Place) - Jackson Duarte
Verbal Commendation (4th Place) - Aidan Sokolov and Henry Hook
Verbal Commendation (4th Place) - Alexander Denton
