St. Aloysius Mass and Dinner--Enjoy the Photos!

On Sunday, April 25, more than 400 alumni and friends of Gonzaga gathered for the annual St. Aloysius Mass and Dinner to recognize and celebrate the school's most generous benefactors. After Mass in St. Aloysius Church and cocktails in the courtyard, Gonzaga President Fr. Joseph  Lingan presented the St. Aloysius Medal, Gonzaga’s highest honor, to Phil Anderson, Danny Costello ’72, and Lisa and Sean Creamer ’82. Congratulations to these worthy recipients who exemplify the magis each and every day.

Phillip R. Anderson, Jr.
Phil Anderson has been a quiet hero on Eye Street for over 30 years, arriving at 4 a.m. each day to ensure the campus is spotless and ready for learning. A former DC police officer and “Officer Friendly” in local schools—including Gonzaga—Phil embraced Jesuit education and became a beloved, steadfast presence. Since retiring from the MPD, he’s served Gonzaga with unwavering dedication, never missing a day and always answering “yes” to whatever is needed. Though he’s tried to retire three times, his deep love for the school keeps him coming back.

Danny Costello '72
In 1974, while still a sophomore at the University of Maryland, Danny Costello returned to Gonzaga to coach freshman football, marking the beginning of a remarkable 50-year career on Eye Street. He brought infectious enthusiasm to everything from launching WZAG and the Screaming Eagle Jam to leading the annual Ireland trip and carefully writing and delivering the Saint Aloysius Medal citations every year. As longtime Director of Development, Danny’s deep love for Gonzaga helped build a lasting culture of philanthropy and expand access through need-based scholarships.

Lisa and Sean Creamer ’82
Lisa and Sean Creamer share a lifelong devotion to Jesuit education and values. The couple met in sixth grade, have been married since 1987, and have two Gonzaga alumni sons. Lisa brought her leadership to several nonprofits—including as Board Chair of D.C. Central Kitchen—and serves as a Spiritual Advisor after making the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises. A longtime member and former chair of Gonzaga’s Board, Sean also co-chaired the Keeping the Promise capital campaign.

We hope you enjoy these photos from a wonderful evening of celebration.
