2024 Fall Sports Schedules Released
The Gonzaga Athletic Department is excited to announce the fall 2024 sports schedules.
Cross Country will compete in the Trials of Miles on Friday, August 30 in Leesburg, VA to open up their season. Last year the team earned the Glavin Cup as the top finishing Jesuit school in the McQuaid Invitational at McQuaid Jesuit -- this year's race will be held in Rochester, New York on Saturday, September 28. The team will also travel to compete in Richmond, VA twice, once in September at the RVA Relays and once in October at the VA Showcase. The WCAC (October 26) and DCSAA (November 2) Championships will be held at Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens. And the Eagles will close the season with the Jesuit Championship in Brooklyn, New York and Nike Regionals in Cary, North Carolina. To see the full cross country season schedule, please click here.
Gonzaga's 136th season of football will include six games on Eye Street! After travelling to face Springfield High School in Springfield, Ohio on Friday, August 30, the Eagles will host four consecutive contests on Buchanan Field against Fordham Prep (NY), Loyola Blakefield, Archbishop Carroll, and Malvern Prep (PA). On October 4, The team will face Bendictine (VA) in Richmond, VA. WCAC play will begin against DeMatha at home on October 12. And after a bye week, the Fall Reunions for the Classes of '79, '84, '89, '94, '99, '04, '09, '14 and '19 will be held on Saturday, October 26 after the Senior Day game versus McNamara. The team will finish the regular season on the road with games at Good Counsel on Friday, November 1 and at St. John's on Saturday, November 9. Gonzaga Soccer returns to the pitch with an exciting schedule in 2024! The Eagles will open with a home game under the lights against Georgetown Prep on Thursday, August 29 at 7:00 PM. The team will travel on consecutive weekends to compete in the annual Jesuit Soccer Classic in Milwaukee, WI to face Regis and Marquette (September 20-21) and in the Great River Classic in Bettendorf, IA (September 26-27). After hosting John Paul the Great on October 1, the Eagles will play six consecutive WCAC games before the playoffs will begin on Tuesday, October 28. Gonzaga Water Polo looks forward to getting back in the water this fall with a full slate of competitions. This year's season starts on Tuesday, August 27 against Calvert Hall. The team will make the annual trip to the Philadelphia area to face Haverford on September 6 and Penn Charter on September 7. The Eagles will be at the US Naval Academy to compete in the Battle of the Beltways (September 14-15) and will travel back to Pennsylvania for the Beast of the East (September 27-28). The team will face local foe Landon twice, and Jesuit rival Loyola Blakefield once. The season culminates in early November at the Eastern Championships.
