Lacrosse Beats Bullis, 3 WCAC Games Up Next

Gonzaga Lacrosse suffered two losses against two of the best teams in the country just before Spring Break, but the Eagles have now found their stride. Last week, after returning from winning two games in Florida, the team beat Georgetown Prep in an overtime thriller, 10-9. And this week, we extended our win streak to five in a row with wins over The Heights (17-7) on April 8 and Bullis (11-9) on April 10. Both games were played on Buchanan Field, and the game against Bullis was the MadLax DMV Game of the Week

Gonzaga was down 4-1 after the first period, but a 6 goal run ignited the Eagles in the second period. After Robbie Bath '24 scored to cut the lead to two, this goal from Carter Cadin '25 kept the momentum going in our favor:

Constant defensive pressure from the Gonzaga defense led to a Bullis turnover, and Freddy Fowler '24 scored quickly to knot the game at 4-4. After losing the ensuing faceoff, the Eagles got a nice check by Gaetano Cicotello '25 to regain possession, and Coach King immediately called a timeout. On the next possession Johnny Gardiner beat two Bulldog defenders and the goalie to give the Eagles the 5-4 lead. Gardiner would score again, and JM Costa '26 netted the final goal for the Eagles in the monster second quarter to make it 7-4 at halftime.

With the game winding down, and the score 10-9 Gonzaga, Johnny Gardiner scored his sixth goal of the seal the victory:
