Gonzaga Wins Decisive Victory Over Prep in Jesuit Gridiron Classic

Varsity Football defeated Georgetown Prep on Saturday, September 16, in the 15th annual Jesuit Gridiron Classic on Buchanan Field in front of a packed crowd and electric atmosphere on Eye Street.

The Eagles dominated play throughout, taking a 21-0 lead into halftime and winning 40-0 to improve to 3-1 on the season. Coach Randy Trivers says that all eleven seniors made significant contributions in the win.

“This is a huge game, not just for me,” senior Jason Labbe II told the Washington Post, “for our school and our entire Gonzaga community.” Click here to read the Post’s full recap of the game.

The victory was the Eagles’ seventh consecutive in the series—meaning we retain the Coupe-Kozik Cup for another year!
